*Expanded Learning Time:  Making Every Minute Matter*

Grades 9-12; 280 students

Mission: City On A Hill graduates responsible, resourceful, and respectful democratic citizens prepared to advance community, culture, and commerce, and to compete in the 21st century. They do this by emphasizing 1) Academic Achievement 2) Citizenship 3) Teacher Leadership and 3) Public Accountability.

 CoaH has had 100% of students accepted into college –for 12 straight years.

 CoaH, an “American Best High Schools” selection, features:

   • City Project, an academically rigorous graduation requirement for all seniors,  to engage students in relevant city-level civic issues and a 100 hour citizenship internship*

   • Full time 1:3 tutorial for all students

   • Proficiencies -end of year gateway assessments of skills and knowledge

   • Weekly all-school Town Meetings

   • Teacher-directed school leadership

*CoaH Study Tour will include an in-depth examination of this asset

Substitute reimbursement is available to district schools that send teachers.  Please send teams of two to five educators.  

This spring, three schools will offer FREE full-day study tours focused on Expanded Learning Time (ELT).  Schools interested in improving their practices around enrichment, academics or instructional improvement should attend.

Each study-tour will feature:

    * A school overview
    * An examination of benefits, challenges, and successes of ELT
    * A school-specific workshop focused on a key ELT practice
    * Dialogue with school leaders, staff and collaborators
    * Networking with other participants
    * Action planning

   * Boston Preparatory Charter Public School –April 13
   * Rising Tide Charter Public School –April 29
   * City on a Hill Charter Public School –April 30
